Good Day, Everyone:
I hope you all are having fun out there and learning lots of new things every single day. Sit down every day and think about what you learned. Maybe you should keep a journal and just write down a few things that you have learned.
Writing down your thoughts helps you remember them and helps you clarify in your mind how you will call on new information and use it in the future. The more I write, the more I can recall and use it when I need it.
It’s the same with time management. Every morning I come into my office at 6:15 a.m., and the first thing I do is plan my week and think about the rest of the week and month. I make a list of things that I want to accomplish every day, and I put a priority next to each one. They become urgent, vital, important, or low value. I then work my way through the day attacking these items when I am between meetings.
At the end of the day, I have most of them accomplished or, at least, started. For the items I don’t get completed, I review them the next day. I just keep doing this day in and day out, and this routine helps me achieve all of the things that I think are my responsibility to get done, including getting my daily exercise, eating right, and getting enough sleep.
To be a really great leader, you need to have a system in place to keep your promises and to do the things you say you are going to do.
Remember that credibility is a leader’s best friend . . . and you always thought it was your dog!
Have a great week, and go out there and make a personal difference every single day. You will sleep better if you use your talent to do good things. . . . Lee
I still recall taking your Time Management class and marveling at your ability to lead 50,000+ Cast Members and still maintain such balance in your life juggling so many commitments both personal & professional. Congratulations on the book. You have much to teach to those who wish to learn.
