“You can either speak up or stay unhappy.”
There is always a way to turn around time management issues at work. When I was at Disney one of our managers was struggling with a team member who was always late and slow to complete projects. Even though they were frustrated, they thought they just had to deal with it. They didn’t want to speak up since they thought it would make them come off as a tattletale.
When you are dealing with coworkers wasting your time there are often two choices. To stay silent and remain unhappy or to speak up and seek a solution.
Thankfully, the manager I worked with chose to address the issue head-on. A simple conversation with their supervisor opened a pathway to more efficient teamwork. It wasn’t about complaining; it was about making sure that the entire team could function effectively. And guess what? The result was a more cohesive team, reduced stress, and projects completed on time.
If you are in a situation where someone’s wasting your time or disrupting workflow, don’t be afraid to address it. It might just take one conversation to turn your working environment around completely.
Remember: The hard stuff leads to the best results.
