A Tribute to Disney Legend Ron Logan

A tribute to Disney Legend Ron LoganWhen I moved from Marriott to Disney, I met Ron Logan when I arrived at Disneyland Paris.

We became friends, and I admired his work. As I moved up in Disney, eventually becoming the Executive Vice President of Operations for Walt Disney World, we worked together closely.

Even after we both retired from Disney, Ron and I kept in touch.

When Ron passed away unexpectedly in August 2022, Disney lost one of its biggest treasures, and I lost a friend.

Ron Logan had a storied career with Disney. A sample of his accomplishments and accolades include being awarded Disney Legend status, a window on Main Street, and he was the founder and president of Disney Theatrical. He produced five Super Bowl halftime shows, some of the most beloved shows, and Disney spectaculars worldwide. After his career at Disney,  he spent several years as a professor at Rosen School of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida.

As a tribute to my friend, I am sharing this interview Jody Maberry, and I did with Ron in 2020.

In this hour-long conversation, you can hear Ron talk about his start as a trumpet player on Main Street in Disneyland. New opportunities eventually took Ron to Executive Vice President of Entertainment worldwide for Disney. Ron and I also reminisce about our first days together in Paris when he used to join me in the test kitchen as we would try out new products for the restaurants.

I am sad that Ron is gone, but I have so many great memories of him. This conversation will give you some insight into the incredible man he was. When I moved from Marriott to Disney, I met Ron Logan when I arrived at Disneyland Paris.
