Hi Everyone
I have been missing in action because I have been living on airplanes. Went to Sweden a few weeks ago to do some work for Scandinavia Parks and Resorts. What a great company and a great country. I overlooked the frozen and beautiful Baltic Sea and made a lot of new friends.
Last week I went to Vancouver to speak to the Vancouver OE group and then to Toronto to speak to Remax Realty. Someone told me that if I wanted people to think I was Canadian to be twice as nice as I am. The Canadians are some of the nicest people.
I then went to South Africa to do some work for the government and for one of my clients Nedbank. I planned to come home from Canada to get some clean clothes but the snow storm in the North East had different plans. I got stranded in NYC and had to rent a car and drive 1000 miles in the dark and rain to Atlanta to catch my flight the next day to Johannesburg. That only took 18 hours so I got a really good sleep on the 16 hour flight to Johannesburg. There is always a way if you really want to do something. Of course I arrived in South Africa with all dirty clothes so I now own some new shorts, socks and shirts. The upside is that the dollar is strong in South Africa so I got some good deals. There is a leadership story in here somewhere.
Here is a leadership interview I did with Richard Rierson recently which you might enjoy:http://www.doseofleadership.com/?powerpress_pinw=995-podcast. Richards website is www.doseofleadership.com
My new book, The Customer Rules is available in 15 days and available for preorder now on my website at: www.LeeCockerell.com or on Amazon. I read the book recently so you can also get an Audio Book or the Kendel version as well as the good old hardback. I am sure if you have trouble sleeping that listening to me will put you right to sleep.
I received the first copies of my new book a couple of days ago and this morning gave the very first copy to Jeff Noel at the Disney Institute. He was honored this morning with Disney’s highest recognition which is the Legacy Award. I have known Jeff for a few years. He really deserved this award….Congratulation Jeff and to the whole Noel family.
That’s all for now….I am heading to Memphis for 24 hours for a client and will come back and rest of before going to present to Suffolk County Community College in Long Island and then I head to the UK to promote my new book, The Customer Rules and to do a two day workshop for a client.
Remember everyone…You have two choices each day. You can make things better or make things worse at work and at home….Lee

I wanted to say I really appreciate the gumption and determination driving from NYC to Atlanta over night to catch the flight. There is no way I can look at that and not think it was pretty awesome.
Can’t wait for the new book. Will be getting the Audio book version through Audible/Amazon. Don’t think anyone will be falling asleep.
Thanks for writing it.
Hi Lee, thanks for the update. My wife and I can’t wait to read your new book. Looking forward to getting some great customer service tips that we can apply to our businesses. Happy travels.
