Every day you have the power to make someone’s day better. One of the most crucial leadership lessons is making everyone feel like they matter. You’d be surprised by the ripple effect of showing authentic appreciation.

Many years ago, I visited one of our hourly cast members who had been badly burned. Years later, he still recalls that visit with gratitude. It cost me nothing but a bit of time and the goodwill has stayed with him for decades.

When people feel valued, magical things happen. They perform better, they’re happier, and they, in turn, create positive environments for others. If your employees are happy you can bet your customers will notice. If they aren’t happy, your customers will notice that took. That is why making everyone feel important is such an important part of leadership.
